RIDG has appointed Shepherd and Wedderburn to provide commercial legal support as it engages potential partners around identified development opportunities.
Shepherd and Wedderburn are recognised by Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500 as one of the country’s leading practices for energy advice. They have gained this through the insight, experience and performance of their team in some of the largest and most complex commercial deals in the offshore wind sector. Shepherd and Wedderburn have also committed to supporting the growth of offshore wind in their home market with their sector-leading commercial, regulatory and consenting expertise.
Mike Hay, RIDG’s Commercial Director, commented: “With RIDG’s interest in building a more sustainable offshore wind industry in Scotland, partnering with Shepherd and Wedderburn is a natural fit. We look forward to working alongside the team as we engage potential partners, suppliers, regulators and stakeholders on the path towards realising Scotland’s potential.”
Patricia Hawthorn, Consenting Partner at Shepherd and Wedderburn, commented: “We are delighted to be supporting RIDG on the forthcoming offshore wind leasing rounds. They are a talented, experienced team who are keen to tap into the strength and depth we can offer on offshore wind development, from agreeing corporate structures at inception to bringing projects through construction, financing and ultimate sale.”
