TotalEnergies is inviting supply chain businesses to join them for a virtual  event to find out more about TotalEnergies, their current UK wind projects including Erebus and Round 4 and their ambitions for their offshore wind business in Scotland and the wider UK.

The event, taking  place on Thursday 15 July at 1.45pm till 3.15pm will include networking opportunities, speakers, and a live Q&A session.

The event comes ahead of the company’s ScotWind licencing round bid with partners Green Investment  Group (GIG) and Renewable Infrastructure Development Group (RIDG). The trio announced the  creation of their Offshore Wind Power Ltd (OWPL) consortium earlier this month, bringing together  the expertise of TotalEnergies, GIG and RIDG to help accelerate Scotland’s  energy transition. Attendees will hear from representatives of all three companies at the virtual event.

All partners have ambitious plans: TotalEnergies is targeting the development of 35 GW of gross  renewable generation capacity by 2025 and 100 GW by 2030; GIG has over 250 projects under  development and construction, with a renewables pipeline of more than 30 GW, and is developing or  has invested in over 20 offshore wind projects around the world with a cumulative offshore wind  development portfolio of over 12 GW. RIDG has been created specifically with the aim of putting Scottish  companies and communities firmly at the centre of this global opportunity.

“Together we bring a unique blend of skills and expertise to ensure we can deliver a safe and competitive  project,” said Jean-Luc Guiziou, Managing Director, TotalEnergies E&P UK, “but we cannot do this  alone. Working in the North Sea brings with it great challenges and complexity and as we’ve done in the  oil & gas sector for the last four decades, we’re looking to the supply chain to work with us to develop  world-class offshore wind developments that will help deliver clean, reliable and affordable energy, whilst  also supporting Scotland’s net zero ambitions.

“This event is an opportunity for us to build the relationships – some of which already exist from our  work in the oil & gas sector – to ensure success for us all: businesses across the supply chain and the  communities and people of Scotland.”

Speakers include Jean-Luc Guiziou plus Philippe de Cacqueray, Head of Offshore Wind UK, Vanessa  Godefroy, Head of Development and Mike Scott all from TotalEnergies, Seamus McCabe from GIG and  Mike Hay from RIDG. The session will include opportunities to network with representatives from all  consortium partners and other attendees, as well as a live Q&A where attendees can put their questions  direct to the speakers.

Any business with the capacity to deliver goods and services to support the development of an offshore  wind project either in Scotland or the wider UK are invited to attend.
