Isla has an in-depth knowledge of the offshore wind supply chain and has worked across the public and private sector, both nationally and internationally. She has been involved in the offshore wind sector for a number of years, working with and supporting hundreds of companies.
In her previous role as Offshore Wind Lead Specialist for Scottish Enterprise Isla spearheaded relations with public and private sector companies as well as wind farm developers and turbine suppliers, working to maximise the supply chain, skills and employment opportunities the sector presented to Scotland as a whole.
She has significant experience in engaging with local and national governments, agencies and private sector firms to design and implement effective strategies for offshore wind which can achieve multiple objectives. Through early engagement and building strong relationships this approach enables developers to identify local supply chain partners and helps supply chain businesses increase their opportunity to win major offshore wind contracts, and in the process create new employment and training opportunities in Scotland.
Isla has a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying from Napier University, Edinburgh.
